I voted for the CV, because I used to drive one. I loved that car. The Scout II was a damn good SUV that was over built in every manor except for rust prevention, but I voted for the Eagle, because Eagle.

......Actually I could care less either way. In my mind the perfect beater is one you would gleefully hit with a hammer and still hop in it and drive somewhere. So most of the cars on that list don't belong. I think the geo makes perfect sense - more fun to drive than a corolla but you would willingly run over or hit something to put a smile on your face.

Do you really consider a pinto to be a good beater? Really? Honestly/ And as a gas saver no less? The pintos that are "beaters" all run rich as hell, leak more fluids than an overturned oil tanker and are offensive piles of scrap. The pintos that are in nice enough shape to cruise around and drive are too rare and nice to use as a "beater" and they are only going to go up in price due to rust killing them off one by one. Meanwhile, no one will mind if you have a Geo and you suddenly decide you want to run over a mailbox.
